TOSHIBA SATELLITE A70
- On December 2, 2005, a proposed class action lawsuit was commenced against Toshiba of Canada Limited and Toshiba Corporation by Brian Lin of Vancouver, British Columbia and Gary Wortley of Windsor, Ontario. The plaintiffs proposed to represent all persons in Canada who purchased the Toshiba Satellite A70 computer notebook (the “Notebook”).
- The lawsuit alleged that Toshiba negligently designed and manufactured the Notebook and breached the manufacturer’s warranty because the Notebook allegedly contained an inherent static discharge defect that caused it to freeze, crash, reboot, shut down, lock-up with a black screen and/or damage hardware components in the Notebook.
- On September 3, 2015, the Honourable Mr. Justice Patterson granted the plaintiffs’ motion for an order discontinuing this action without costs. The order can be viewed here.
